Nicole Loochtan, who is originally from Chicago, relocated to the Lexington area to have access to her trainer, Sharn Wordley, and the world class show jumping competition which exists in Kentucky and on the East Coast. After purchasing Stone Creek Farm, they recognizing that the region, rich with event riders, was lacking a first class 'public' XC training facility,
The proximity of Stone Creek Stables to the Kentucky Horse Park, and the available open land offered a prime opportunity to build out a course to cater to all levels of riders and horses. The Loochtan's have created this facility from the ground up; installing a custom Wordley Martin Equestrian show jumping arena, building an expansive XC Course, fully renovating the old center isle barn, fencing in multiple turn out paddocks and adding a state of the art hot-walker. Guests are allowed to schedule schooling on the XC course by appointment only, and the Loochtan’s plan to hold schooling shows and clinics throughout the spring, summer and fall.
Our XC Course is located on approximately 10 acres and features professionally built Beginner Novice - Prelim level questions. There are coops, benches, tables, roll tops, ditches, corners, oxer table, sharkstooth/coop, skinny wedge, triple log stacks, 2 boathouses, a water Obstacle with In/Out Bank, A Bank/ Step Up, and KY Horse Park Mounds!
Stone Creek Stables features a gorgeous Wordley Martin custom arena which is also will be available during schooling shows.
Stone Creek Stables will be offering combined training schooling shows starting in 2020, where riders will have access to our Wordley Martin arena. Stay tuned for dates!
