Stone Creek Stables offers both riding and driving instruction on your own horse or one of our school mounts. By arrangement, school horses are also available for Academy riders to take to shows. Our large (160' x 80'), well-lit indoor arena is suitable for private or group lessons in addition to driving.

| What and How We Teach | ||||
| Stone
Creek Stables teaches Saddleseat, Western, Equitation, and
Driving. All of our school mounts are former show horses, experienced
and well mannered. We also offer lessons on your own horse and, of course,
include this in the price of board & training. We emphasize safety
for both the horse and rider, and helmets are provided. "Saddleseat"
is a classic balanced style of English riding and offers a solid foundation
for any other type of riding including Hunt Seat, Western Pleasure, or
Dressage. We understand
that people have their own goals and reasons for riding and we're dedicated
to helping each person achieve their individual goals. Some want to be
World Champions; some just want to have fun. If competition is your goal,
we attend many "A" and "B" level shows during the
season in addition to encouraging new riders to participate in Academy
shows. Some riders just want to do their own personal best and never compete.
All are welcome at Stone Creek Stables. Our Training Program Dennis Verschelden trains customer's horses in all of the above disciplines. He believes that each horse must be trained for the individual rider and is an expert with "complicated" horses. He provides calm, quiet instruction to both horse and rider and feels that this kind of training, which may take a bit longer in some cases, provides lasting results for both members of the riding combination.
